Leno and Torreira come out close as Fabrizio Romano names third Arsenal star next to fall, two ambitious suitors named

Arsenal could eliminate three fringe stars quickly after Fabrizio Romano provided updates on the exits of Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari.

The Gunners have already wrapped up the bulk of their summer arrivals with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus their most eye-catching arrivals to date. A move for Youri Tielemans continues to be touted. Whether the highly rated Leicester ace will leave the King Power should become clear in the coming weeks.

On the exit front, Arsenal still have a lot of work to do to reduce the fat on their team. However, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, they are set to complete two deals very soon.

Firstly, substitute goalkeeper Bernd Leno could become a Fulham player today.

The German stopper, 30, has agreed terms on an £8m move to Craven Cottage and Confirmed novel Leno will undergo a medical examination today.

Fulham are keen to complete the deal as soon as the medical is over. A three-year contract with club option for a fourth season will be signed.

Exit Leno followed by Torreira, Mari?

The second outing could come in the form of forgotten midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The Uruguayan is on the radar of Galatasaray and the Italian media Calciomercato claimed that an initial three-year deal had been filed. If signed, Torreira is reportedly pocketing around £50,000 a week – £25,000 a week less than his current salary in north London.

Torreira is said to be moving to Turkey in a deal worth around £6million, by the sun. It would be a hefty £20m loss on Arsenal’s £26m outlay, although with just one year remaining on his contract any return is better than none.

A follow-up tweet de Romano claimed the ball was now in the player’s court with Arsenal “ready to accept” Galatasaray’s offer.

The last player set to go in a quick three-way exit could be Pablo Mari.

Romano described the 28-year-old Spaniard as ‘the next player to go’ after Leno and Torreira.

Serie A pair Verona and Monza are named as potential landing spots. Mari recovered in Italy last season with a fine loan spell at Udinese.

Husband now surplus to requirements

Monza are ambitious and on the rise after winning promotion from Serie B last season. Verona, meanwhile, has established itself as a true mid-table club in recent years.

Mari would be the fifth-choice centre-back at the Emirates if he stays. Takehiro Tomiyasu has also operated in midfield at Bologna on numerous occasions in the past, meaning Mari can actually be as low as sixth.

The inclusion of William Saliba in Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans this summer is probably the final highlight of Mari’s career at Arsenal.

Saliba went from strength to strength over three successive loan spells in France. However, his move to Arsenal is finally coming.

The French ace has been sensational in pre-season and could even edge out Ben White for a starting role.

White will likely start the season at right-back, with Tomiyasu lacking in fitness. Once the Japan international returns, all eyes will be on who Mikel Arteta chooses to partner Gabriel Magalhaes.
