EMbalenhle cops receive certificates for a job well done – Ridge Times



eMBALENHLE – Lt. Col. Andries Tshabalala has been keeping police morale high since arriving at eMbalenhle police station last year.

This is according to agent Busi Mthethwa who received a certificate of appreciation last week.

She was involved in the arrest of men arrested for theft of cable.

She spotted the men removing the plastic covers from the copper cable and alerted her colleagues two weeks ago.

Lt. Col. Tshabalala said he handed the certificate to Constable Mthethwa to show that her commitment to fighting crime was noticed and that as the communications officer for the eMbalenhle police, she never overlooked the crimes she had heard about in the township.

Lt. Col. Tshabalala said that as head of detectives, he is responsible for uniting all police components of the police station.

Sgt Vusumuzi Zulu receives a certificate of appreciation from Lt. Col. Tshabalala for his good work.

“Members of the Community Service Center open cases, process complaints and make arrests, then the cases are assigned to us, us detectives, to investigate, then return the case to court for prosecution using information from CSC and the police who had worked hard to arrest the suspects.

“It is our responsibility as heads of police units to unite the members and to encourage them, not to divide them but to make them want to come to work even if he is on leave”, declared the lieutenant. -colonel Tshabalala.

Another officer who received a certificate is Sgt Vusumuzi Zulu.

He responded to a complaint from a tavern owner who was dancing with a gun.

Sgt Zulu chased down the suspect and arrested him.
