Debby Ryan heats up Puerto Rico. The actress and singer, who starred in Insatiable, flaunts her amazingly chiseled abs in a swimsuit while vacationing on the island in her latest Instagram post, making it clear that she knows a thing or two about fitness. For Debby, accepting that she had body dysmorphia was her first step to recovery. “Dysmorphia has been a dark passenger of mine for years. I first noticed it at age 13, when I was told to draw a picture of my body, and the silhouette and shape of what I saw apparently didn’t match what everyone else saw at all,” she said. The Sydney Morning Herald. “I don’t know to this day if I’ve ever looked in the mirror and seen what other people see when they look at me. And I’ve never had a day, not a day, where I looked at myself in the mirror and I thought, ‘Fresh.’ It was all I wanted before, but I’ve achieved a lot in 12 years, so maybe I don’t need that anymore to feel fulfilled.”
Debby also revealed that emotional eating contributes to the problem. “I was heartbroken and my close friend was suffering from cancer and I was eating emotionally and dealing with an eating disorder in its own right,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald. “I gained 12 pounds, which isn’t a lot on the Hollywood scale, but everyone online was calling me fat and speculating that I was on drugs. It pissed me off so much. “
Now Debby manages her stress by exercising. One of his favorite workouts? Boxing. She even has a workout buddy she can fight with: her husband, Twenty One Pilots singer Josh Dun. “Does he grab my butt,” she captioned some snaps from one of their workouts.
Debby likes to burn calories while rushing at the same time. She enjoys rock climbing and also snowboarding. “Nighttime is for slow carving and flirting on the slopes,” she captioned this snap.
She also goes rollerblading, hiking and walking, all with the help of her beloved dog. Sometimes she even walks her dog rollerblading, like in this adorable Instagram post. “He walked me for about 5,000 yards,” she captioned the video.
