What does body therapy training mean?

Body therapy is a collective term for all professional therapeutic treatments for the body. Body therapy training is available in several variations at YHHS, such as skin therapist, massage therapist, and spa therapist. We offer both private lessons and higher professional training eligible for the CSN.

Dermatologist training

Skin therapy is a body therapy training that gives you in-depth knowledge of the skin of the body and face. In combination with skin therapy, you will also receive spa or massage therapy training. The combination increases the chances of getting a job immediately after graduation. During the training, you will acquire solid knowledge in a number of areas, such as:

  • Anatomy and physiology. As a skin therapist, you need to know the surrounding factors that affect the skin, such as diet, exercise, and other routines.
  • Dermatology. With a good knowledge of dermatology (the study of the skin) and skin abnormalities (vascular malformations), you will be able to, among other things, understand the effect of UV light on the skin and the responsibility of skin care. .
  • Skin care. As a skin therapist, you must have a good knowledge of skin care. Different skin types, treatments, skin care products and makeup are some examples of areas that are covered during the course. You will also gain practical knowledge about planning and carrying out treatments independently.
  • Body care. In addition to knowledge of sensitive facial skin, you will also receive training in body care. A dermatologist must have the necessary knowledge to perform treatments on the whole body.

massage therapist training

Massage therapy is a body therapist training that gives you a good knowledge of the anatomy of the body, and allows you to help suffering people to have a functional daily life. During the training, you will also become a skin therapist, which is an interesting combination in the job market. Training as a dermatologist and massage therapist is available in Stockholm and will allow you to acquire knowledge in several areas, such as:

  • Spa and stretching. You will gain knowledge about the different types of spa treatments and stretches. Being able to address muscle tension and reduced mobility are important skills of a massage therapist.

Spa therapy is a body therapist training that gives you a solid knowledge of spas and treatments and also includes skin therapy. The combination of spa and skin therapy is in demand on the job market and offers you good conditions to get a job immediately after your studies. If more applications than places are notified, the selection is made by a special test to rank all the applicants. The test is not compulsory but an implementation increases your chances of being admitted. Application takes place at yh-antagning.se and closes two months before the start of the course, but late applications may be received subject to availability.
